When moving your account to Farmers & Merchants Bank, we make the transition as seamless as possible. Our Switch Kit Checklist provides the framework needed to conveniently move your account while ensuring nothing gets missed in the process. By following these three easy steps, we provide the peace of mind to know your account is ready to go.
Deposit money into your Farmers & Merchants Bank account. Once your account is funded, it's active and ready to use. Our recommendation: reassign direct deposits or other recurring credits you have coming into your new account.
Before your switch is complete, be sure to reveiw your old account statements for automatic transactions that may need maintenance. Payments for items such as cable, internet, gym memberships, auto loans or utility bills will need to be modified and redirected to your new account number.
Once all your automatic transactions have moved to your Farmers & Merchants Bank account and any outstanding items have cleared, it's time to close your old account and transfer the remaining balance. When your old account is at a $0 balance, you will need to contact your former bank or credit union instructing them to close the account.
